The squeaky wheel gets the grease gets told it’s overreacting

Steven Frank:

On Saturday night, we drove up to Seattle to attend a memorial service for my wife’s grandmother. Shortly after checking into the hotel, I checked the inbox on my Android phone and found myself staring at the words “Philip Schiller”.

I haven’t sought Phil’s explicit permission to republish the letter, so I won’t do so here. But to summarize, he said: “we’re listening to your feedback”. Not all of my suggested solutions were viable, he said, but they were taking it all in as they continue to evolve the app store.

Apparently, Phil Schiller is on a mission from god. Or Steve. Good news for all of us.

As well he should be, but I don’t think Steven Frank or any of the other complainers out there have much to do with Phil Schiller, and subsequently, Apple’s desire to fix the app store.  I’m sure they’re well aware it’s in their best interest to fix their golden egg laying goose.

I’ve kept my mouth shut about the subject for quite a while, despite the fact that my financial well being is firmly hitched to the Apple wagon, because I have faith in a company that has produced arguably the most enthralling consumer electronic device of the decade, and the supporting eco-system which enables it’s growth.

So, good for Phil for reaching out and contacting those who were vocal on the subject.  But stop patting yourself on the back because you think you had anything to do with it
