My favorite team, in my favorite sport will be playing the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals. The last time the Flyers were in the Stanley Cup, I was in high school.

This is the same Flyers that pulled of an epic come from behind series win against the Briuns. They were down 3-0 and losing game 7 3-0.

Their current goaltender is on his 5th team in as many years. They fired their coach halfway through the season. They’ve had 7 goalies in net for them throughout the year. And 3 of their key players have been seriously injured and returned, during this playoff season.

All of the so-called hockey know-it-alls are going to call it Chicago in 6, Chicago in 5, but I’m making the call now. Philly in 6. Why? Three main reasons:

1. The Flyers are a team on a mission.

2. The Hawks play a cycle game, and the Flyers are an aggressive physical team.
There’s one antidote for the cycle. It’s checking.

3. The curse of the Hossa.
Marian Hossa has been on the last two losing teams in the Stanley Cup finals.

Either way, let’s hope for an entertaining finals. Hockey could use it.
